Last November 12, Black Girl Hockey Club launched in Canada to inspire and sustain a passion for the game of hockey within the Black community. We co-hosted a free skate at Scotiabank Pond in Downsview Park with the help of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart), our largest benefactor, to officially launch the organization. Throughout the day, we also hosted two private events, which included a yoga & meditation session led by The Villij and sponsored by Athleta and a private screening of the movie Black Ice for the scholarship awardees, mentees and their special guests.
